Cookies & storage

What MarketSafe keeps in your browser, and why. Short answer: only what’s needed to keep you logged in.

Draft: this page is being reviewed by our attorney before MarketSafe opens to the public.

The short version

MarketSafe doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and there are no analytics tools following you around the web. That’s why there’s no cookie banner: there’s nothing to agree to. The only things we keep in your browser are what’s needed to keep you logged in.

What we keep in your browser

When you log in, your browser keeps two items: one in its local storage (a small store each website gets) and one cookie.

NameKept inWhat it’s forHow long
ms.accessTokenLocal storageKeeps you logged in while you use MarketSafe. It stops working by itself after 15 minutes.Until you log out
ms_refreshCookieLogs you back in when the short login above runs out, so you don’t have to type your password again. Only MarketSafe’s login service can read it, not the pages themselves, which makes it hard to steal.30 days after you last use MarketSafe, or until you log out

Nothing is stored if you only browse without logging in.

Other websites

Our pages don’t load anything from advertising or social media companies. If you tap a Share button, the app or website you share to (like WhatsApp) has its own cookies and privacy policy.

How to clear it

  • Log out. That removes both items straight away.
  • Logged in somewhere you no longer use, like a friend’s phone? Your profile page lists your devices: log that one out from there.
  • Or clear MarketSafe’s site data in your browser’s settings, usually under Privacy, as “cookies and site data”.

If this changes

If we ever want to use cookies that aren’t needed to run MarketSafe, we’ll update this page first and ask for your consent. Read more in our Privacy policy.
